According to the AT&T rules there is couple things which you have to sign when buying iPhone, and among them is this: "If you activate your iPhone, and decide to cancel your at&t service YOU HAVE TO RETURN THE iPhone!". Yes you hear right you cannot sell, trade or give away your iPhone if you cancel AT&T service according to the AT&T salesperson.
